The line-up has been announced for this year’s Incoming Festival. Co-directed by New Diorama Theatre’s David Byrne, and Jake Orr and Eleanor Turney of A Younger Theatre, Incoming Festival will run at New Diorama Theatre from 23rd June to 3rd July. The festival is billed as a “celebration of emerging theatre companies”, and features a new piece, TANK, from Breach Theatre of The Beanfield acclaim; Chris Goode’s experimental boyband Ponyboy Curtis; and Peter Brook Award-winners Kandinsky with new show Still Ill.

Now in its third year, Incoming Festival was set up with the aim of supporting companies at a very early stage of their development. The 20 companies showcased this year are from across the UK, and Co-director Eleanor Turney describes them as “some of the most exciting companies making work today”.

Co-director Jake Orr said: “This year’s festival demonstrates the diversity and breadth of work being presented by emerging companies. Since we founded the festival in 2014, we’ve always strived to offer more than just a stop in a touring calendar and I’m incredibly proud that for the third Incoming Festival we continue to push forwards. With tickets at just £5 and a host of workshops soon to be announced we want audiences to try something new and see why we should be proud and excited by companies who are emerging into our theatre industry.”

Co-director David Byrne added: “Incoming is a great celebration of the new theatre companies making work in the UK today, and 2016 is our best ever line-up. From the £5 tickets and the Peter Brook Award on offer, to the festival atmosphere and free workshops, it’s an amazing ten days and I hope you can join us to enjoy it.”

Turney continued: “When we first started to talk about running a festival, all three of us were very clear that if we were going to do it, we were going to do it properly. For us, that meant – and still means – paying all of the companies and workshop leaders properly, and making sure that ticket prices are as low as possible. For the third year running, all tickets to every show are just £5, and we hope that this means anyone who is interested will be able to see a show or two. We’re so delighted with this year’s line-up, and we hope that audiences will be excited, too.”
