Cock, a play by Mike Bartlett, first performed in 2009 at the Royal Court in a production directed by James McDonald, will open Off-Broadway next year. The original Royal Court production, which starred Ben Whishaw, Andrew Scott and Katherine Parkinson, won the 2010 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in An Affiliate Theatre.

Bartlett’s recent plays include Earthquakes in London, staged by the National Theatre and Headlong, and now on a UK tour; Love Love Love for Paines Plough, and Contractions, also for the Royal Court. His latest play, 13, will open later this month at the National Theatre in a production directed by Thea Sharrock.

An off-Broadway venue has yet to be confirmed for Cock and further details about the production will be announced in Spring, 2012.
