The second Harold Pinter Playwright’s Award has gone to Nick Payne for his second play Constellations which opened at The Royal Court earlier this year.

Last year the inaugural award went to Anders Lustgarten and is intended to support a new commission at the Royal Court, where Nick Payne was a member of the Young Writers Programme and made his debut in 2012 with Wanderlust.

Constellations, starring Sally Hawkins and Rafe Spall, opened in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in January this year and will transfer to the Duke of York’s theatre, as part of the Royal Court’s West End season.
